 Author´s explanation:
The original portrait is transformed into a completely different depiction following on from the legacy of cubism, which deconstructed the subject, simplifying the figure into geometric structures and recovering the rhythm of the futurists, fascinated by the speed of increasingly faster cars…The fragmentation and multiplication of the forms represent an obvious sign of avant-garde painting’s break with artistic tradition.

This portrait inherits and reinterprets all the steps taken since the human eye began to perceive "other realities" through the microscope, of a vehicle going at 200 Km/h, of artificially generated images in a computer, of an entire technological revolution that began last century and proceeds at an ever greater speed, increasingly more present and dominant in modern society.

Whereas the technique used by cubism was performed "avec des petits cubes" (1), this work is performed "avec des petits pixels", stemming from the tradition, without forgetting it, albeit using new technologies as a source of expressive renewal.
