Innovation and technology have been the foundations of our work at CARSA since the very outset, and the slogan coined for our first European project has stayed with the company ever since: Innovation, Technology and Internationalisation.
Innovation management for continuous improvement:
CARSA was set up in the late 1980s, at a time when the Basque Country was going through a serious crisis in industry and technology. As the socio-economic structure changed it became necessary to restructure manufacturing industry, and major steps forward were taken in the automation and robotisation of industrial processes.
Seeking to distinguish itself from other consultancy firms, CARSA directed its efforts and experience towards the use of technology-based improvement processes to assist SMEs by identifying distinctive factors through which they could stand out from their competitors in the market.
In the 1990s other firms grew up around CARSA. At that time the basis for business co-operation was established, and the Innovalia model of innovation and growth was designed. This model was implemented with the setting up of Innovalia ICT and Innovalia Metrology, and was to become a technological benchmark in Europe. Subsequently, Innovalia Association was established.
Continuous innovation has been a key element of CARSA’s track record as a business, enabling us to take up new challenges creatively, efficiently and competitively.
